Bowling at Canaston Bowl

Bowl them over with an hour of bowling on our ten-lane centre.

At Canaston Bowl, a maximum of six people can bowl on one lane. You can book more than one lane if you have a large party. Bumpers are available on all ten of our lanes and we also have two ramps available but these must be pre-booked. All bowlers must wear bowling shoes and socks for hygeine reasons. Shoes are available free of charge and range from a children's size 7 to a large size 15. We have a variety of bowling balls ranging from a 6 pound ball for children to a 15 pound ball for strong adults! (That's about 2.5Kg to 6Kg for those brought up with the metric system!)

The aim of ten-pin bowling is for each player to take it in turns to knock down all of the pins. Each player has up to two attempts to do this. If you do it on your first attempt it is called a 'strike', if it takes two balls it is called a 'spare'.

With our computerised scoring system, it's all done for you, no maths involved! The score is the number of pins you knock down during each go. If you get a strike or a spare, your score box will remain empty as you will score bonus points with your next ball. If an 'F' appears in the score box, you have stepped on the Foul Line and your score for that go becomes void. The maximum score you can achieve is 300. Printed copies of your scores are available on request from the Bowl Reception.

Canaston Bowl staff are always on hand to help you with any questions you may have.

The bowling lanes are fully accessable to wheelchair users.

During school holidays and especially on rainy days, the bowling lanes sell out fast. So as soon as you have a date and time in mind, make a reservation by calling 01834 891622.
